Trade Professional
Electricians have the Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde job of first fix wiring and temporary power supply to site and then later the second or final fix installations after all but the decorators and floor finishers have been through the site. Because of the nature of first fix and the messy job it often becomes it is important to choose the right kind of work trousers, work jackets and work fleeces if you’re going to keep warm dry and safe. First fix is demanding at the best of time. When you are physically active your body produces heat and moisture. If your body becomes too hot your body will feel uncomfortable and your ability to concentrate is impaired. At the same time, if you perspire and your underwear becomes wet, the risk of excessive heat loss is high. So during varied activity especially in cold conditions you are likely to both become too warm then too cold, depending on the intensity of the activity, almost a no win situation. Final fix tends to be in a more controlled environment, but not always.
